Independent Inspection
Frosty Builds independent inspections can be done anytime during, before turn on or after, or even years later. While we recommend inspections are always done before starting up the power, Frosty Build can come anytime you suspect something may be wrong, or just for peace of mind with an evidence based inspection.
We always recommend an independent inspection by a cool room builder before the power is turned on. This is because once the air within the temperature controlled area is bought down below the temperature outside or in your roof space, which is often 30+ due to plant running and will be well over in Australian summer, this WILL cause condensation, meaning if your temperature controlled room is not built and sealed correctly, your panel walls and ceilings will become water logged and defected, your engineering weight tolerances will be incorrect and for a lifetime you or your client will be paying much more for energy than needed or worse; will face a collapse or warping of the structure.
During an independent inspection, we will use thermal imaging technology to hunt out any weak or vulnerable points to insure correct insulation techniques have been used and that doors are completely sealed. We will count fixings and suspensions to ensure they are up to specs with the manufacturers recommendations. We will inspect the most common areas that we find problems where sometimes even the best tradesmen may miss. We will also pull apart weak spots to ensure there are thermal breaks and correct mastic usage and put them back together perfectly. All of this backed up by evidence or photos and videos regardless of correct or incorrect installation.
After this, dependent on if there are issues, we will either repair it there on the spot, inclusive of the inspection fee or if larger issues exist, we can contact the installation company on your behalf and allow them the time to come back in and bring their work to specs. If this is not a new build but is within warranty the same rules apply. Most reputable installation companies will happily help.
If, however, you are out of warranty or your warranty has been voided for various reasons, we are still able to contact the installation company if there has been malpractice rather than wear or tear from usage, and allow them to repair it themselves, otherwise Frosty Build will always have your back.
